Roller Coaster

Artist: Gordon Morison

Roller Coaster

Whether as a way of appealing to more reserved operators or a prevailing company ethos, of the major pinball manufacturers Gottlieb generally leaned toward less risque themes than their competitors. Roller Coaster highlights the family-friendly thrills of an amusement park in a way meant to balance customer appeal with more reserved social attitudes.

Artist Gordon Morison walks the line here, embracing the flair and color of the early 1970’s while remaining in a fairly wholesome scene. His figures are both cartoonish and believable at once, dressed in contemporary styles but exaggerated in proportion.
