Pacific Pinball Museum, The Smithsonian of Pinball

An event that has been a while in the making, the opening of the Pinball Science room will mirror some of the exhibits that were built for the travelling exhibition "Ausgeflippt" now showing at the Phaeno Science Senter in Wolfsburg, Germany. Michael and Christian Schiess created duplicates of the Pin Chime, Galton Pinball Machine and the Gottlieb Reset Video Kiosk.

On May 13th, a brand new exhibition created in collaboration with the Pacific Pinball Museum opened at the Phaeno museum in Wolfsburg near Hannover in Germany.

Check out the Video of the Exhibit:

Entitled Ausgeflippt (Flipped-Out), the exhibition showcases the art and science of pinball using a combination of classic machines, huge artwork murals, and bespoke exhibits to demonstrate how pinball and science combine and complement each other.

99% Invisible came to the PPM and also talked to Roger Sharpe.

David Volansky, a native of San Francisco, was elected to the board by a unanimous vote on August 10th, 2014. David brings his systems analysis expertise to the museum from a career in IT.  While he won’t rest until every last pinball machine is in perfect working order, he will take out some time to work as a board member on the larger goals of the museum.

Next to our world famous Visible Pinball Machine is our newest educational tool,

The PPM was recently able to meet with City Manager John Russo and Nannete Mocanu to present bank statements showing our deposits totalling $750K for the Carnegie Improvement fund. This is the first step in securing an agreement for the reuse of the building into the new home for the PPM. Our next milestone will be securing the City Council's affirmation of the lease agreement we develop. We are scheduled to meet with the council in mid-September. The capital campaign will begin in full on their approval.
